Newt Gingrich Mocks President Barack Obama in Naples

By Javier Manjarres

Republican presidential candidate Newt Gingrich dished out a heavy helping of rhetorical smackdowns directed towards President Barack Obama at last night’s town hall meeting in Naples, Florida.  Gingrich has previously challenged President Obama to seven “Lincoln-Douglas” style debates, and has even offered Obama the opportunity to use a teleprompter in the debates, “because it has to be fair.”

If you got video of the whole townhall meeting, then why not make that available? Post it on You Tube. That would of some value…

Thanks for sharing this video, Javier.

The Newt was his usual articulate self, but he was truly ‘preaching to the choir’ about the current resident of the WH. We all know BHO HAS GOT TO GO. (Hey- could this become a slogan fit for the bumper sticker?!)

I needed to hear an argument as to why he should win the GOP primary, not the general election.

    • Flagstaff November 27, 2011 at 1:08 am

“I needed to hear an argument as to why he should win the GOP primary, not the general election.”

Maybe he believes, as I do, that the best way to show he should win the primary is to show how he can win the general election. That’s JMO, but I’d rather see and hear that than to hear about RomneyCare or the illegal immigration problems in Texas or whether running a corporation is good preparation for being President.

  7. SouthernGirl2 November 27, 2011 at 7:12 pm

    Are you kidding me?!

The guy had eighty four ethics charges against him. He was kicked out of Congress for corruption. He’s GRIFTER! Lets see, Newt left his wife after an affair, then went to said wife and asked for a divorce while she was recovering from cancer surgery. What a POS!

Please let this grifting grifter be the republican nominee. Landslide!!!

      • SouthernGirl2 November 28, 2011 at 12:36 am

Did or didnot Newt get kicked out of Congress for corruption? Is it a lie that while Newt was trying to impeach Bill Clinton, he was having an affair himself?

Gag! It makes me nauseous just thinking about Newt carrying on with some woman. Who would want that nasty looking ugly man? Ewww…

        • Steve November 28, 2011 at 7:58 am

Southerngirl, Newt Gingrich has bee described by some as the Republican version of Bill Clinton. I don’t know if it is a fair comparison. Perhaps. Let’s not forget, Clinton was wildly popular (still is) with the Democratic party base. That is not to say, Republicans should not be held to a higher standard.

May I ask, at this juncture, who are you planning to vote for in the state’s primary? Little doubt you are aware, Mitt Romney hasn’t excited his party’s base because of his adult flip-flops on fundamental conservative issues, yet Romney has not been charged with any personal immorality, ethics violations, or misbehavior to my knowledge.

Republicans are desperate for an alternative to Romney. First it was Michele Bachmann and she made some missteps. Then Governor Rick Perry came in and he stole a lot of her support. Perry fizzled in the debates; on some issues that got little attention in the right-leaning alternate media. Then we had Herman Cain with his female accusers, his stumbles on foreign policy, etc. Now we have Newt Gingrich who is very bright, yet deeply flawed.

If by some strange confluence of events, Gingrich were the Republican nominee, what would you do November 2012, given a choice between Gingrich and Obama?

SouthernGirl2 you are mistaken on ALL COUNTS! !. 83 charges were dropped 2. he was not kicked out of congress 3.Newt is not or never has been a swindler. Money he made was made fair and square
      4. His wife had filed for divorce before her surgery for removal of a benign tumor and was not recovering from cancer surgery, and she is alive still.
What you state are accusations making the rounds on the internet. Please take the time and effort to inform yourself by going to a website that judges urban legends.

      • SouthernGirl2 November 28, 2011 at 1:04 pm

No matter how much you deny it, Newt was kicked out of Congress for corruption. Newt is a GRIFTER…always has been. I hope you’re not giving that lying swindler any money? As if the American people will elect that crook as President? Come on! They had enough of him as Speaker and booted his old corrupt a$$ out of the door.

History has already been written. George W. Bush was and always will be the worst president this country has ever had to endure. If it was not for President Obama, Old Georgie boy , Dickhead Cheney and Dumbsfeld would have possibly faced war crimes. In my opinion, that was the biggest mistake of this adminstration. Hopefully after President Obama is re-elected he will change his mind and persue charges.

    • Sandman November 28, 2011 at 4:46 pm

Get your facts straight you stupid lying bytch. Newt’s daughter, Jackie Cushman, wrote a column to set the record straight about this smear about his dying wife with cancer. The column reveals that 1) It was her mother that requested the divorce, not Newt, and it was months before the hospital visit in question; 2) Her mother was in the hospital to remove a tumor, but it was benign, and she is still alive today; 3) Newt visited the hospital for the purpose of taking his two children to see their mother, not to discuss a divorce.

Newt left congress on his own accord. Eighty four politically motivated ethics charges were filed against Newt when he was Speaker of the House regarding the use of tax exempt funds for a college course he taught titled “Renewing American Civilization.” Eighty-three of the eighty-four charges were found to be without merit and dropped. The remaining charge had to do with contradictory documents prepared by Newt’s lawyer supplied during the course of the investigation. Newt took responsibility for the error and agreed to reimburse the committee the cost of the investigation into that discrepancy. Newt never perjured himself to a federal judge and grand jury like the rapist Bill Clinton did. Get a life loser!

Your smears won’t matter filthy statist. Newt is going to pummel BamBam the economic wrecking ball in the debates and will defeat Obama in 2012 to become the 45th president of the United States.

Don’t worry lizzy. Us patriots who are willing to get dirty and fight the left will keep up the good fight and you can just stay above the fray. News flash for you, the left doesn’t play fair and while you’re offended by me calling a filthy lying statist a filthy lying statist, I’m offended by the destruction of our economy and our traditions and the ignorance of our liberal electorate that put people in power to do such damage. Thanks for pointing out my incivility while the liberal poster continues to smear our conservative candidates and no condemnation for her. You’re a gem lady.

3- I could hardly be described as a patriot “above the fray.” I work hard and pay my taxes. Period.

    • Mike November 30, 2011 at 9:00 am

Get your facts straight…hid wife wanted the divorce and he did NOT go to her hospital bed and say anything like that. His daughter, who was there, tells the whole story and his x-wife confirms it and has for many years. But I guess you know better than the family who was actually in the room. you are a fool who reads headlines and think you know the story. Try facts, you may not like them, but at least you won’t sound like a brainless idiot when you write comments.

    • Toughcritic November 30, 2011 at 10:04 am

Your so right Southerngirl2, it will be a landslide FOR NEWT! Could it be any easier than running against the most pathetic failed president in U.S. History, one who decimated the U.S. economy, one who has lost the respect of all other foreign nations, one who LIED over and over again in his 2008 campaign and has not fulfilled one promise to Americans, one who has caused the largest unemployment rates since the depression, one who is still looking for a church to join, one whose best friends were an anti American cleric and an acknowledged terrorist-murderer, one who doesn’t know how many states are in the union, one who doesn’t celebrate and honor the National Day Of Prayer and one who did acknowledge that he is a Muslim. Keep wishing Southergirl2 that Newt is the guy!

  8. NorthernGirl November 27, 2011 at 8:43 pm

83 of the 84 charges, which were brought against him by the Democrates, were dropped by a bi-partisan committee. He agreed to the one charge to get on with life, and paid the $300K fine out of his own pocket. The IRS investigation found that he had not violated any IRS rules. He did not go to the hospital to ask his wife for a divorce, she had already asked for the divorce. He went to the hospital to take his children to see their mother. As for the rest of his personal life, it is of no concern of mine. Of all the candidates, he is the most qualified to be president.

Seems like I am not the only one to come to your site, looking for the whole vid, based upon the small viral snippet seen on Breitbart.

Seems to me that it would make good business sense to upload (even to YouTube) the full speech, or link to it on YouTube, or ? I had never heard of your site before today.

I’d appreciate it if you did post it… Maybe it would be the first time somebody else comes to your site, if you did? Or people would see that you actually listen to your visitors, and maybe build some loyalty?

    …just my two cents.

    • Javier Manjarres November 28, 2011 at 7:02 am

Again, the the video is too long-40 + minutes. Youtube does not support a video that long-max is 15 minutes. There is another video about Newt’s immigration position on the site. Thanks for your input

I attened the Naples Town Hall and Newt was great. He addressed questions and gave truthful answers. I lived in DC and I know just how the lies get started on both sides. Do your research and find the truth. It’s easy on the web now, people have been taken end by the lies. The truth is out their. I support Newt, he has the knowledge and the smarts to lead.

Romney vs. Gingrich on Jihad and Sharia
    A Yawning, if Unappreciated, Gap
    by Andrew Bostom
    November 28, 2011 at 4:00 am

    http://www.hudson-ny.org/2616/romney-gingrich-jihad-sharia

    (excerpts)

Romney: “I spoke about three major threats America faces on a long term basis. Jihadism is one of them, and that is NOT (emphasis mine) Islam.”

Gingrich: “Sharia in its natural form has principles and punishments totally abhorrent to the Western world, and the underlying basic belief which is that law comes directly from God and is therefore imposed upon humans and no human can change the law without it being an act of apostasy is a fundamental violation of a tradition in the Western system which goes back to Rome, Athens, and Jerusalem and which has evolved in giving us freedom across the planet on a scale we can hardly imagine and which is now directly threatened by those who would impose it…”

  14. Sandra November 28, 2011 at 10:37 am

The jury is still out on Newt. He didn’t get kicked out of Congress, I did look that up. He resigned to save the Republican party because they had lost a lot of seats because of his cheating. The only thing I am concerned about is if he belongs to any of the elite groups, such as builderbergs, trilateral commission, CAIR, etc. I had read somewhere that he belonged to one of them, but haven’t researched it yet. But regardless who the nominee is, I will vote for them. Anyone would be better then what we have. As far as ethic violations, if the current crop we have in congress were brought up on ethics violations, there wouldn’t be many left. This is the most corrupt Congress we have ever had.May God help us if Obama gets re-elected. Pray, Pray, and pray some more that he doesn’t.

    • SouthernGirl2 November 28, 2011 at 1:15 pm

          • Steve Klein November 28, 2011 at 6:42 pm

I am a member of a very flawed party, with flawed political leaders who have strayed from conservative principles; more so since this traitor who preceded Barack H. Obama. I’ve been fighting for conservative values my entire adult life. I intend to vote for a conservative in the Fla. primary that I believe exercises personal morals or has learned from past mistakes. You made some sound arguments against Gingrich. But you’ve been parading yourself here as a woman of virtue when in fact you are nothing of the sort. You support this low life in the White House; this evil, vile man; this racist, this bigot, this anti-Semite who ran with anti-Semites, racists, bigots, jihadists, PLO operatives, etc., his entire adult life. A man who is a twenty year disciple of racist / anti-Semitic preacher, Jeremiah Wright. This is the man you hold up as as your ideal. You no better than this anti-Semite you support. That makes you complicit in evil yourself.

I have a long memory on Newt Gingrich. I will never forget (in the mid nineteen nineties) hearing on the hourly news, Gingrich threatened to punish “recalcitrant” freshman Republicans who wanted to stand firm, all the while Gingrich cut a deal with Bill Clinton to end the government shutdown. Gingrich was going to make certain these idealists did not have a chance being re-elected in their districts if they did not tow the political line. Gingrich was not going to help them raise money or campaign in their districts if they did not bow to his demands. I learned first hand what it means to be a “team player.”

Given a choice between Newt Gingrich and Barack Obama, I’ll vote for Gingrich. That being said, there is no way Gingrich should get the nomination, or be elected to any office higher than dogcatcher.

In 1994, Clinton’s SecDef William Perry broke a long standing national promise to America’s military retirees, by kicking them out of military medical and dental facilities. This benefit of service extended back to Roosevelt – Teddy Roosevelt, and had long been used as an incentive for young men and women to make the military a career.

A few months later, in January 1995, Gingrich became Speaker of the House, and military retirees had high hopes of Perry’s decree being reversed. But no! Gingrich, and his senate counterpart, Trent Lott, despite the urging of military retiree groups, folded to Clinton and Perry like a pair of cheap lawn chairs, and gave us a joke called Tricare. I guess dental care wasn’t considered that important, as it took another two years for congress to get around to addressing that issue. And if Tricare is a joke, the Tricare Military Retiree Dental Program, administered by Delta Dental of California, is an abomination.

In short, America’s military retirees were abandoned and betrayed by Clinton and Perry, and Gingrich and Lott aided and abetted. For this reprehensible act of betrayal, Gingrich should not be elected dogcatcher.

After watching the Thanksgiving republican sit down discussion, the one Mitt Romney wouldn’t show up for, my husband and I are quite impressed with and at this point support Rick Santorum for President with Michele Bachmann as VP. Newt is well spoken, but didn’t come off as sincerely as we had been looking for. We just didn’t get the solid core responses like we heard from Santorum and Bachmann. This is all so important. Our freeom is at stake and I will say that I will vote republican no matter who the candidate is, but I pray that the Lord is still with us and will put the right man or woman in place.

Santorum does not have the ‘savvy’ to rescue this country from its own fiscally destructive legislation, nor does he fully comprehend the ramifications of China’s manipulation of currency. Romney does.

I do believe that Michele Bachmann has wonderful potential as a vp. She’s smart, capable and so very, very knowledgeable on the issues. She has performed flawlessly in the debates. I am impressed.

Well excuse us, who knew lizzy dunn was appointed internet moderator and decides what language and tone is appropriate when dealing with low life Democrats. Funny how she only decides to scold conservative posters who are actually supporting Newt. Sorry not everyone wants Mitt Romney a conservative Charlie Crist would be proud to run with.

    Rasmussen GOP primary poll
    Newt 38%
    Romney 17%

    Head to head
    Newt 45%
    Obama 43%

Newt is polling in the 40′s in Florida. Definitely an imperfect candidate by by far the best qualified to lead and spread the most prosperity to the most people possible.

I believe in Reagan’s “11th Commandment,” so I will wave the white flag. I would certainly not be displeased to see Gingrich in the WH.

I support Romney because I am gravely concerned about fiscal issues in this country and he has the superior personal resume to cope with highly complex economic issues.

The point of my “scold” was simply that certain idealogues should be denied a response. (They, after all, have MSNBC, CBS, NYTimes, Washington Post, et.al; why should we humor them with a response on sites such as this one?)

      Regards,
      Elizabeth

By a vote of 395 to 28, the House hit Gingrich with ethics charges in 1997…
