New Crop of Republican Congressmen Positioned to Make a Statement

by Javier Manjarres

Republicans need to take a deep breath and learn from their failed political strategies that they’ve employed over the past several election cycles.  Florida’s congressional delegation took a huge hit with Allen West’s loss and the unfortunate but expected loss by troubled congressman David Rivera.

The bright side for the Republicans in Florida is that its newly elected members of Congress are ready and willing to articulate a concise and effective message that sway the electorate to support a revamped Republican Party.

The newly elected Republicans to watch are: Congressman-elect Trey Radel, who won Congressman Connie Mack’s old congressional seat; Ron DeSantis (pictured),who won the newly drawn district in the Jacksonville, Florida area; Ted Yoho, who replaced the moderate-Republican Cliff Stearns in north central Florida; and of course incumbent Republican congressmen Steve Southerland and Tom Rooney.

Rooney has been one of few Republican members of congress who have stood up to Obama’s failed foreign policies, by expressing his concerns and objections in the strongest terms possible.

Radel has also told the Shark Tank that he will be clearly articulating his conservative principles and holding the Obama administration accountable for their actions. The Benghazi consulate cover up scandal will be the first test posed to Rooney, Radel, DeSantis and other Republicans, as all eyes will be on them as to how they deal with this ongoing coverup.

We are watching.

Yep, if Republicans can’t beat the worst president in history, they better start getting a better strategy in place and pronto. Reps better address the indoctrinated voters coming out of the university system. They are easily influenced and I am astounded by how many kids change their worldview after their college experience. Conservatives need to improve on the articulation of their principles and get involved in education. Candidates that are squeaky clean is a must. No more skeletons in the closet. Americans are forgiving so having a reasonable explanation for past failures will blunt the attacks of the leftist media. Hiding that past is a sure fire way to defeat.

Javy’ — what now for Allen West? He had many, many contributors, like me, from other states, and he is too valuable as a strong, principled conservative voice to lose in public service. The FLGOP deserves a slap in the face for setting him up to get beaten by a dumb-azz Dem like Murphy. What next for the Colonel??

First thing for West would be some soul searching. He talked a great talk but turned his back on many loyal supporters when he was a nobody. A people’s rep has to be humble not cocky. Once he humbles himself they will be behind him again and he will win in the future. He is not establishment and his backers were not establishment. Once he won he tried to find a way in with the establishment. Big mistake. Time to go back to the original the real West. Once he does that, he will be golden again.

For me, the answer to winning the university students is to STOP donating money to the colleges, and tell the fund raisers why. The professors sit in their ivory towers and spout socialism and never stop to think what lies down the road as a result.

PS I think the reason why so many previously Democratic leaning newspapers came out for Romney IS BECAUSE THEY ARE LOSING MONEY. Why would I pay money to see my principles trashed on the front page?

So true the Florida News Papers are so biased it is NOT even news.
      They are just Pravda South!

Billie is so right its funny. As to why we lost its very simple to me.

We lost 1 million votes on 1 single issue IMMIGRATION all we had to do was embrace Sen Marco Rubios plan an we would have gotten 1 million votes that went to Obama period.

Problem number 2 is stop the BS in the GOP of allowing people to stay in the party who do not back the winner of the primaries 64% of Florida voted period to be exact 65.11% cared enough to vote 663 of them voted for Rose Anne Barr thats how mad the 663 were at the GOP for there antics. Why is not the 3 people who ran against Karen Harrington in the primaries not thrown out of BREC? Where were all those supporters of the 3 at?????

Next where the hell was Newt Gingrich and his supporters? Where was Rick Sanatorium and his supporters?
An next to last but by no stretch of the imagination was Rick Perry and his supporters Texas Legislature only meets every 3 years……

An finally where in Gods name did the Legislatures in the State GOP ever come up with the crazy way they redrew the boundary’s. I will tell you its all about the establishment thats what POWER CORRUPTS THAT’S WHAT….
In case you think Rubios concept is wrong. 3/4 of his idea has existed in the US Military since 1956 spend 4 years an your guaranteed citizen status…The rest is window dressing.

Next election we have a huge Asian Population coming to the polls and they as a group are the best educated people in the nation. Do we throw them under the bus also?????????

Leadership tell us what you think so we can vote you out of office……BTW who ever came up with Mr Kennedy’s voter card I personally salute you that was a 100% home-run…we better start using it the dems have been using it for years. Next election add a Spanish version. Some were in existence in Broward but did not mention the federal officers at all…..nor any of the Amendments…..Just my take on what I saw at my 2 polls and what my wife encountered at hers working for Karen…..

It is vitally important to follow the voting records of our Republican representatives as too many talk a good game but vote differently. Don’t worry about the Dems’ votes –they’re now, in the Age of Obama, all for Bigger and More Intrusive FedGov. Remember Sen. Zell Miller? He was the last good Democrat.

“By Their Votes Ye Shall Know them.”

Maybe it’s time you folks realize that the MAJORITY of Americans wants representatives who are not as far to the right as Mr. West and who will compromise to get the Nation’s business done.

Maybe you all haven’t read the memo yet, but it’s not a plain black and white world out there. Like it or not, these are shades of gray.

A simple look at the election returns should tell you that a lot of other hard working, tax paying Americans believe that THEIR view is right, not yours.

Allen West would probably have won if he had been running for Pres. He fights like a man should fight – to win! Conservatives will come out to vote if they have a strong conservative to vote for. Having lived in S. Fl most of my life I know it is predominately liberal. Redistricting is what hurt him.

  7. Jacqueline L November 10, 2012 at 8:32 am

We do not want a “Humble” Allen West. We want aggressive tell it like it is Constitutional Conservative Heroes like Allen West. The Dems threw millions of $ against West. They used traditional Liberal tactics of lies, smears and distortions AND THE REPUBLICAN PARTY ALLOWED IT TO HAPPEN!
West must find a solid Red county and get back in the game. He has supporters who will follow and work for him now more than ever!
