During his recent two-day trip to South Florida, Senator Ted Cruz sat down with the Shark Tank to discuss among other things, the rift that exists between himself and the establishment Republican leadership in the U.S. Senate.I am proud to have stood with the American people-Sen.Ted Cruz
Even though conservatives agree with Cruz on the issues, some columnist have taken issue with the tactics he’s used to drive home his message, and his disappointment with leadership.
Cruz said that “it was a debacle what Republican Leadership did” during the debt ceiling, when they asked every Senator to consent to allow Senator Harry Reid to raise the debt ceiling, adding trillions of more debt without any reforms.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
As Cruz puts it, “not all of them are terrible fans of his” because he stood up in the Senate for 21 hours, drawing attention for the need to defund Obamacare.
GOP Senate Leadership wanted a show vote…What Mitch McConnell asked every Republican to do was to affirmatively change the Senate rules, and took our affirmative consent, because the normal Senate rules provides that you need 60 votes to do that, but by unanimous consent, by all 100 Senators agreeing to change the rules and lower the threshold to 51.
And the virtue of doing so, he explained, was that the debt ceiling would be raised, trillions more would be added, but every Republican could vote ‘No.’-Senator Ted Cruz
