Last week Team Benacquisto accused Curt Clawson and Paige Kreegel of having some alliance between the two men and a Super PAC, to attack Lizbeth Benacquisto, the perceived front runner in the contentious special Republican primary race in Florida’s 19th congressional district.
It appears as if Team Benacquisto had jumped the gun, as Clawson just cut and released an attack ad aimed at both Benacquisto and Kreegel. The ad highlights the “friendly” voicemail Kreegel left Clawson that warning him about the imminent attacks on him from the Values are Vital Super PAC. Benacquisto’s camp believes that the voicemail is a sign that the two men are more than just friendly, and are actively strategizing against Benacquisto.Clawson released a press release about the voicemail throwing Kreegel under the bus, accusing Kreegel of threatening him with the attack ad from the Super PAC, which just so happens to be supportive of Kreegel’s campaign.
Do you think the 2nd Amendment will be destroyed by the Biden Administration?(2)
Kreegel responded to Clawson’s accusation by saying that he only knew of the attack because of a expenditure filing posted on the Federal Election Commission’s website, and denied any collusion between his campaign and the Values are Vital PAC.
Don’t expect the mudslinging to stop anytime soon, as Benacquisto continues to dodge forums and debates, it is almost a given that Clawson, Kreegel, and the Super PAC, will continue to bash her perceived establishment Republican congressional candidacy.
There is about a month left in this primary election, an thus far, aside from Clawson economic plan, no one else has offered up any substantive proposals, or have taken any strong positions on any of the issues. The voters in Southwest Florida are getting screwed. While the candidates are quick to rail against former Congressman Trey Radel and his fall from grace, all of the candidates hypocritically say that Floridians need to know who they are voting for before they cast their ballots, yet fail to address their constituents questions and concerns.
Clawson is not attending candidate forums because Benacquisto is dodging the forums herself, citing bogus excuses, like having to make neighborhood walks.
By avoiding forums, which will most likely bring about touch questions about their past and voting record, do these candidates have something to hide?
Of these candidates, who is going to step up, act congressional, and address the voters in this congressional district? Will it be Michael Dreikorn, who is also in the race?
Remember when Democrat Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi said that the Congress needed to vote for Obamacare to know what was in the bill? Will voters need to elect a candidate, just to find out what he or he stands for, and what where they stand on the issues?
